Beverly “Bev” Palmer, 93, of Urbana, OH, passed away on July 21st, 2026 in Springfield Regional Medical Center.

Born on April 9, 1933, in Columbus, Ohio, Beverly was the daughter of the late Francis and Mary (Weiler) Mills.

Beverly dedicated her career as an Inhalation Therapist at Mercy Memorial Hospital, where she faithfully served others with compassion and care. Outside of her profession, she remained active in her community, serving on the Board of Elections, assisting Urbana City Schools, and volunteering by providing transportation for cancer patients.

A proud 1951 graduate of Urbana High School, Beverly was honored as Homecoming Queen during her school years. She enjoyed bowling, playing cards, cheering on The Ohio State Buckeyes and the Cincinnati Reds, and spending time with family. Known for her strong will, quick wit, and wonderful sense of humor, Beverly never hesitated to speak her mind. She especially cherished Christmas, making each holiday magical and memorable for her children and family.

She is survived by her daughter, Lisa (Butch) VanHoose; sons, Randy (Pam) Palmer, Steve (Jennifer) Palmer, and Doug Palmer; grandchildren, Brandon (Emily) Spence, Amber Spence, Travis Van Hoose, Nathan (Maren) Palmer, Stephanie (Matt) Sims, Josh Palmer, and Chris Palmer. As well as 10 loving great-grandchildren.

Bev is preceded in death by her loving husband Richard E. Palmer; her parents; her cherished dogs, Bridget and Zsa Zsa; her son-in-law, Phil VanHoose; sister-in-law, Ann (Jerry) Wright; and brother-in-law, Robert Palmer.

A gathering of family and friends will be held from 10:00 A.M. to 12:00 P.M. on Thursday July 30, 2026 in VERNON FUNERAL HOME, Urbana, Ohio.

Funeral service will follow at 12:00 P.M. in the funeral home with Pastor Mark Chow officiating.

Burial will follow in Oakdale Cemetery, Urbana, Ohio.
